One such advancement that incorporates face-to- face learn-ing with technological tools is the blended or hybrid mode of learning and teaching. Blended or hybrid learning is a seamless combination of online and face-to-face activities for classroom instruction for all and basically the demographically displaced. This research delves into a profound study of the perception of students and sta˙ involved in a postgraduate educational leadership program o˙ered in a blended mode. An interpretive paradigm using mixed methods approach adopting a survey consisting of Likert scale items and interviews were successfully implemented. The quantitative data was analysed using SPSS while thematic approach using emerging themes were used for interpreting the interviews. Findings testify that blended approach has been liked and very well accepted by the students as it enables them to complete their qualifications and progress academically and professionally in their lives. This study sets a solid platform for further research as certain scholars and administrators are still sceptical and hesitant in fully implementing blended mode of learning and teaching. The study concludes by stating certain implications that subsequently can make blended mode more chronic and applicable to the needs of scholars, teachers and students especially in archipelagos like Fiji and beyond.
Dr. Wahab Ali ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://jassh.in/index.php/jassh/article/view/334 Mon, 09 Jul 2018 00:00:00 +0000 CREATIVE DRAMA AS A TEACHING TOOL IN THE CLASSROOM http://jassh.in/index.php/jassh/article/view/335
Previous studies revealed that creative drama has its own advantage in terms of education. In this study, creative drama has been implemented to prove that it has its own role as a teaching tool in the classroom. A qualitative research design was used and data was collected from 10 children as samples in the District of Rawang, Selangor. This study used questionnaire and continuous record as instruments. The study was carried out for two weeks. In this study, the use of creative drama as a teaching tool was found to hold influence over comprehension and behaviour of children in the classroom. It can therefore be concluded that creative drama has a significant role as a teaching tool in the classroom.
Syarul Azlina Bt Dato’ Haji Sikandar, Sumathi Maniam Raj, Sharifah Barkis Binti Syed Amin ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://jassh.in/index.php/jassh/article/view/335 Mon, 09 Jul 2018 00:00:00 +0000 EFFECT OF MARITAL STABILITY OF MOTHERS ON SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN http://jassh.in/index.php/jassh/article/view/336
Marital stability is one of the major concerns of this era where the technological advancements alter the relations of husband and wife. A mother plays a very important role in the overall development of the children. Child development is always a complex process but in today’s world it becomes more complex because of various factors. Changes in the composition and roles of the family members especially mother a˙ected the process and ways of child rearing which can directly or indirectly alter the development of the children. A healthy and happy marriage contributes towards a well developed child. It has been seen that the children lack social maturity because of the prevailing social family dynamics. This paper is an attempt to find out the e˙ect of marital stability of mothers on the social development of their children. Marital stability is assessed using the quality of marital relationship scale and social development is assessed using social maturity scale. A sample of 200 mothers whose children falls in the age of 4-12 years were taken as samples for the study in the Aligarh city.
Farzana Alim, Mariyam Fatima ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://jassh.in/index.php/jassh/article/view/336 Mon, 09 Jul 2018 00:00:00 +0000
